Los Caprichos of Kerry Cannon
featuring

The Tiger Club and Los Caprichos series

August 26- October 3, 2010

Stanthorpe Regional Gallery, Queensland

I return to the Stanthorpe Gallery 10 years after my solo show Alchemy, Golden Dreams Come True which showed at Stanthorpe at the end of 1999.  Alchemy was my third bronze series and is still my favourite work to date which bodes well for my friends in Victoria, Texas.  This show showcases my two most ambitious works to date:  The Tiger Club, my sixth series, and Los Caprichos my 12th series and most recent work.   It’s a lot of bronze and will be a lot of fun.  I hope you can make it!Going somewhere, Going nowhere by Kerry Cannon

Bronze Rave at The Nave
featuring The Alchemy series

September 9- October 24, 2010

What is The Nave Museum and where is Victoria, Texas?

Royston Nave Memorial Museum

The Nave was created as a memorial to Texas artist Royston Nave to house the artists’ paintings.  Royston Nave, 1886-1931, was an impressionist painter who showed regularly in New York City.  He married a local Victoria woman and settled in Texas where he was a well known portrait and landscape artist.

Victoria is a town of about 60,000 people 2 hours south of Houston, 2 hours from San Antonio and Austin and about 1 ˝ hours from Corpus Christi.  It is cattle and oil country with abundant water which has attracted industries like Du Pont and Union Carbide (or whatever it changed its name to after Bhopul). The Nave is a strange little Parthenon-like building with a great space located around the corner from the Victoria CBD.

Construction of the viewing Platforms

The last Tower is complete.  Now we just have to link the 4 towers and gazebo with a bicycle track and of course create and install the sculptures that go on top of the bases. Stay tuned…
